Introduction

Software estimating has been a blend of art and science. The science aspects come from the applications of mathematics and formulas to derive an estimate for the proposed work. The art aspects come from the fact that judgment and experience are key elements towards the successful estimate.

This course is designed for project managers, team leaders and practitioners responsible for delivering quality software products on time and within budget. It is intended to significantly improve accuracy when it comes to estimating size, effort, resources, duration and cost early in a software project's life, in organizations where little or no history of previous projects exists.

This course is also extremely beneficial for those business managers involved in creating RFP's, managing software development projects,…and interfacing with IT groups, for the same reasons.
